Potensi POME Untuk Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Biogas di Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat
Muhammad Firdausi
Abstrak
Biogas is formed naturally when Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) is described in anaerobicconditions. Without control, biogas is a major contributor to global climate change. ConvertPOME into biogas can generate energy while reducing the impact of climate change from thepalm oil production process. Biogas power plants (PLTBg) take advantage of the naturaldecomposition process to generate electricity. To convert POME into electrical energ, it isnecessary to know the potential, characteristics and continuity owned. POME's potentialassessment is conducted in Tanjung Jabung Barat District, which is one of the areas withenormous POME potential of Jambi Province. The result of measurement and discussionknown that POME flow rate 146.880 m3 / year. With this potential can be designed generatingplant of 4.5 MWe, and electricity generated by 42,336,00 kWh/year. It needs to be followed upwith a technical feasibility study to make it happen.
