Abstrak

Shock Absorber System with good damping to the force arising due to road conditions needed to support the driving comfort. But not infrequent failures resulting from the use of Shock Absorber. One type of failure that occurred, namely the Rolling Damper Area Crack.Therefore, the authors conducted a study to determine the occurrence of Crack in the area of Rolling Damper. The analysis conducted based on the theory of the conditions of damping Shock Absorber and the theory about metal fatigue due to repetitive loading, it is possible Shock Absorber receive periodic loading and lead to fatigue failure.In a study conducted, the method used include literature studies, field data collection, testing, and data analysis. The data is taken regarding loading happens then analyzed, compared against the specifications and characteristics of the material Shock Absorber. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the crack in the area of Rolling Damper arising due to stress value exceeds the Rolling Damper Rolling Damper fatigue stress material.
