Abstract

   The Yogyakarta Palace building or the Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Palace is one of the sources of Indonesian culture that developed in Central Java, because it shows local wisdom and traditional Javanese traditions that are so authentically guarded and preserved to this day. The palace which was formed as a result of the Giyanti agreement has its own uniqueness on it, not only in the pattern of life that uses customs that are upheld, but in terms of the building that stands because it has its own meaning for the people of Yogyakarta which is the center for regulating all forms of government that exist and are built based on Javanese mythology and cosmology. The purpose of this research is to examine the cultural values of the architectural tradition in one of the wards which are part of the halls of the Yogyakarta Palace. The method used is descriptive qualitative. Facts used as sources or reference materials were obtained by the authors through field visits, as well as supporting books used as supporting literature. Cultural transformation is unavoidable and this transformation not only affects culture but also influences the science of architecture which is currently experiencing a shift both in the appearance of the façade and in the spatial arrangement. Therefore, Indonesian architecture is one of the identities of a cultural supporter that should be preserved to remains sustainable from
