Abstract

The application of the concept of Green Architecture in public buildings in the world has become a policy in overcoming environmental problems. The public building that will be redesigned in the field of education is the Borobudur Kalimalang University Campus. The campus is a place for educational services where students need thermal and visual comfort for the sake of a comfortable learning process. Where the location of the Borobudur University Campus is surrounded by industrial, trade, agricultural, housing and residential areas which are quite dense. Therefore, it can lead to air pollution, congestion, crime, and other environmental problems. To overcome this and meet the convenience of studying for students so that the redesign is carried out by applying the criteria for the Green Architecture concept on the Borobudur campus in the form of: (1) Saving energy, (2) Working with Climate, (3) Respect for the site, (4) Respect for users, (5) Limitting new resources, (6) Holistic. In this journal, it will be discussed how the application of the criteria for the Green Architecture concept into educational buildings for the realization of thermal and visual needs for students
