PROMENADE STUDY AS A PEDESTRIAN AND RECREATIONAL SPACE AT THE WATERFRONT TOURIST AREA IN ANCOL, JAKARTA
Abstract
Ancol Dreamland is a tourism area with a beachfront background located on Jl. Lodan Raya, Ancol sub-district, Pandemangan sub-district, North Jakarta and stands on an area of 80 hectares. Ancol itself is the largest and most comprehensive recreational park in Jakarta where facilities include water and beach sports, exciting rides, swimming pools, to Eco-Parks and spectacular performances. The promenade is a pedestrian path that not only functions as a place to walk for pedestrians but also as a special attraction that makes users forget the time. So that the promenade on Ancol beach is one of the efforts to create attractiveness as well as being functional as a waterfront pedestrian area. As one of the facilities and attractions for walking and seeing the scenery on the water's edge, the promenade in the Ancol Jakarta area needs to meet the pedestrian planning criteria and provide comfort. How the implementation of planning elements that need to be considered and the comfort factor as a pedestrian need to be studied to ensure their suitability, so that the results become input for the future, considering the importance of this facility. For this reason, this study discusses the suitability of the planning criteria and the convenience of the promenade in the Ancol area of Jakarta. The method used is a qualitative method by means of direct observation and comparative studies of similar cases, then the data obtained will be analyzed by means of a literature study. The result is an identification of the application of promenade planning elements and their convenience as a pedestrian in the Ancol tourist area.
